Students in an environmental club led by teacher, Julie Kirkpatrict, worked to refurbish a strip of earth and three tree pits bordering their playground.

 

The plots of hard-pan earth are home to several mature trees, mulberry, locust and callory pear. The soil was severely impacted due to playground use and contained very little organic material.
